We moved in, started work, had some rig problems, and lots of rain, but still love the area. The Saco/Old Orchard Beach KOA that we are working at is fun, the owners are really neat, and there are couples from Kentucky, Oregon, California, and Maine working here along with some of the locals. We've already had a lobster dinner, 2 lobsters with sides for $21.99, can't beat that with a stick!!!!
Our converter decided to take a hit and took out the convection oven and the air cleaner with it, so that could of been worse. Thankfully our RV coverage will cover the repairs/replacements for us!! That should all be completed by mid-July, in the meantime we are without a microwave/oven, other than the gas oven that came with the rig. Oh well! Such is life!!!
We've done some driving around, we are within 30 miles of 6-8 lighthouses!! We are all of 4 miles from Old Orchard Beach, very similar to Santa Cruz, boardwalk and all. We're 30 minutes from Portland, and actually have really good shopping, Sam's, groceries, etc all within 10 miles or less.
This is all around a better fit than the job in MA, we're much more comfortable here and not afraid to be ourselves, west coast attitudes and all!!!
